My impression on ELT before taking the Methodology course
Before this course, I thought that I was doing my best job while teaching my students, but then, I realized that my classes needed a purpose. I wasn´t teaching to improve or elicit their skills, I was just giving them theory and controlled practice. Next school year I´m going to improve my methodology in order to help my students to acquire language instead of learning rules that later won´t help them to communicate in English. I think that taking in account the Communicative and the Natural Approach is very helpful when designing the lessons.

This is a perspective that combines a theory in language teaching with a curriculum and class activities. Very similar to the Communicative Approach. This is focussed in oral language production and sees meaning and vocabulary as the heart of language.
The role of ICT in teaching.
Hi friends. I think that learning about ICT is very important to be updated. We cannot be separated from new technologies because our students expect that in lifetime we have learn more than them, and they are in contact with new technologies everyday, maybe just playing and chatting, so we must go beyond that and show them multiple uses for the web.
Listening or Reading?
I used a recording in a micro class to assess present contunuous structure, but after my presentation I had the impression of being assesing reading skills instead of listening.
The exercise consisted on listening a recording of a letter; while doing so, students should fill the blanks with the form of the verb to be, and the verb in “ing” form that they heard.
Do you think it was a good way of assessing listening, or I shouldn´t provide the written letter?
